“The evacuation order by the Israeli military forces on July 22nd forced approximately 150,000 people to flee from East Khan Younis to Mawasi and other downtown areas. Over the past 10 months, it has sadly become common to meet families displaced as many as eight or nine times. Nearly 85% of the Palestinian population in the Gaza Strip has been displaced, many multiple times, since October 7th.  Forced displacement can constitute a war crime. People are exhausted and desperate, and the repeated displacements hinder humanitarian aid efforts. Currently, 90% of Gaza's population critically relies on humanitarian assistance. For persons with disabilities, the challenges are even greater, as the lack of accessibility and specialized care threaten their lives. This cycle of displacement erodes human dignity and physical integrity, violating basic human rights. As per the latest International Court of Justice Advisory opinion, human rights conventions do not cease in case of armed conflict or occupation.

An immediate and sustained ceasefire is urgently needed to ensure protection, support, and the restoration of dignity for all affected people in Gaza. We also call for the release of all hostages and captives. The world is already 290 days late for a ceasefire. This cannot continue any longer.”
